About
Each moment in time is a document in itself. When I take photographs I know that the light may never be the same again on a stationery subject like a landscape or a building. I will likely never get the same results of something moving. The quest to get the best photo of the most interesting subject is why I keep going back for more. Add to that the history of people and how they lived, the cultures they were part of, and a specific time in history compel me to create a photo documentary that may stand the test of time.
I have been taking photos for 20 years. In the beginning I took photos of everything and realized that my style was obtaining close, tight shots of people and objects. I am drawn to ghost signs and graffiti, which I guess is “other people’s art” but take photos of wildlife in our national parks as well as compelling landscapes. That is not hard to find in Big Sky Country.
A more comprehensive representation of my photographs can be viewed at http://jmelliottphotography.zenfolio.com/ Be sure to scroll down to see the train graffiti and landscapes. I trust you won’t be disappointed.

My grandfather was J. E. “Eddy” O’Connell and he started Eddy’s Bread. I was just read his obit and it mentions the Creamery Cafeteria. But your post of the sign shows it in Butte. He did do business in Butte and the
menu said that they served Pan Dandy bread which was one of his bread
logo’s. Maybe there is a connection. Was the Creamery Cafeteria in Helena or Butte?
